[Much like when he had first woken up, his arm lifts, and he extends a single, precise middle finger in Midoriya's direction. That's his answer to being thanked which is one hundred percent both him and assholery.

His mom would beat him over the head if she could see how he was acting.]

If you're not gonna do anything interesting, I'm getting the hell out of here. You're so damn boring, nerd. [Hm.

Seems like someone else isn't very good at being aimless either. Though sociability wears him out, he prefers to at least keep his hands busy so he doesn't go insane. It's why house arrest consisted of him actually doing some damn work; otherwise, he'd go crazy.]

[ He didn't expect anything else. Midoriya grins shamelessly at the middle finger, waving a hand at him nonchalantly in response. In the grand scheme of things that Bakugou has done that are vaguely dickish, being flipped off is pretty low on the list. ]

Don't forget movie night!

[ Kirishima wouldn't let him forget it, probably, but Midoriya still wants to make sure that he's invited; even if Bakugou doesn't come or want to come he figures it's still important that he's included.

And if the couch is gonna be free, Midoriya flops onto it with the blanket, pulling out his freshly rescued phone, lounging like an overlarge cat. He could go back to his room, but the couch is preferable being a higher traffic area meaning he gets to see everyone at some point. His attention span for this will probably only last a while longer but he's at a loss on what else to do, really. ]

[Don't forget movie night. He absolutely forgets, but, yeah, Kirishima makes absolutely sure he not a no-show. Irritating.

When he leaves, he goes back to his room to chill for a while, but gets antsy after recharging from having wrestled Midoriya all on the couch and on the floor. The coffee doesn't help. So he ends up going to the gym, the recreational one. He'd rather try some obstacle courses, but is told no on the account it's a day off.

Gym it is then. He isn't super into sports, but the work of trying to control a basketball helps him condition the movement of his arms in the tight space of his body, and chunking it to the net improves his coordination and gets him heated which helps him sweat.

Kirishima forces him into dinner, too, so he takes his time showering to be a dick on purpose, but frustratingly, Kirishima never minds his antics. The boy is still waiting on him like a puppy, and Bakugou gives up trying to get a rise. Making them wait isn't manly, is what he gets when he's dragging his feet to the movie.

While the rest of them huddle and talk or rush in and out of the kitchen, he stands with his back to the wall and a foot up between both areas, alone, scrolling through his phone.]

[ Eventually, there's nothing else he can catch up on which means that he's got little else to do. He spends time with Iida and the others studying for a few hours; it's unnecessary but it makes him feel a little more prepared which is about all he can ask for, really.

From there it's just the normal things he doesn't have time for: he tidies up his dorm room, puts on actual clothes rather than pajamas and does a load of laundry.

Someone makes dinner; he's not sure who but he winds up with a plate of stir-fry before the movie and by the time it's nearly movie night, he's full and content, if still itching just a little bit to do something other than sit around. Movie night is good, though; when he comes into the common room people are milling about and Bakugou is settled between the two spaces on his phone.

Unsure if he wants to be alone or not, Midoriya says hello to anyone he might not have seen yet and listens idly to Ashido arguing with Kirishima about alien movies; he doesn't have any particular input but the white noise is nice.

A moment later, a text appears on Bakugou's phone. !!! ]

[It’s obvious Bakugou is being a douchebag for the hell of it, for being able to see the text is from Midoriya in a banner while he’s in a different app. He doesn’t even leave the other boy on read; he doesn’t even look for a minute or two.

Finally, he switches over, and his jaw clenches with the effort of not barking a laugh in the midst of their classmates. A spark in his eyes, he snaps them up to quickly scan everyone else, searching, looking for—he spots Midoriya off to the side, phone in hand, balanced between other conversations. His brows narrow, and he exchanges a look. Something faintly amused at the meanness behind the text but also something exasperated at thinking it’s amusing in the first place considering who sent it.

He goes back to his phone. Soon, Midoriya gets a response.]

[ He gets it; he might not understand it but after there's no reaction the first few seconds Midoriya rolls his eyes and lets himself get caught up in a conversation with Kirishima about classes.

Throughout it, though, he keeps half an eye on Bakugou; there's a part of him that desperately wants to get him to laugh out loud while he's pretending not to care or pay attention and while it's not quite that, it's still good. Midoriya gives him a shiteating grin in response and barely resists the urge to stick out his tongue.

Bakugou's response absolutely succeeds, though; Midoriya can't stifle the snicker which prompts everyone around him to demand to know what it is. He shows the picture to them which gets Sero's attention, and he shoves at Midoriya's shoulder playfully, loudly protesting that that's not what they're for!

In the meantime, Midoriya makes it his sworn mission to get at least a snicker, which means three are sent in quick succession and Midoriyais watching.

[The first one almost does it, being a shitty All Might meme. He grits his teeth and sneers, daring to open the other two. Stupid. Fucking stupid!! The last one shouldn’t, not when it sends a ripple of irritation coursing through him too.

The chuckle comes out, and he turns his head away from the room to keep anyone from seeing the break in his face, and he masks the low sound with a cough. Midoriya gets Fucking weak. as a response regardless of what visibly happened. He can’t believe he cracked under some dumbass meme.

Looking up like before, Midoriya gets a heated glare. He raises a hand and drags a single finger across his neck, a silent threat. He’s going to murder this damn shrimp for thinking he could be one of the fodder for Internet memes.]

I’m gonna kill you. [It’s mouthed. He knows Midoriya can read his lips.] After the movie, you’re dead.

[ He's not quite sure any of them are going to work; Bakugou's....well, Bakugou and Midoriya is fully aware he might not get any kind of reaction but he's nothing if not patient. When it comes, Midoriya is so pleased with himself it's downright ridiculous. He grins, wide and pleased, slouching back into the couch with the others as he watches Bakugou gesture and then mouth that he's going to kill him.

Yeah, about what he expected. Midoriya grins wider, which completely ruins the faux-innocent look he's going for right then and keeps to text so he doesn't draw attention to them. There's a line to walk here; too much attention and someone might notice and make a big deal and that'll just properly piss Bakugou off. ]

[As expected, Midoriya gets 🖕🖕🖕 in return for the challenge. Before he can do or say anything else in reply, Kirishima practically leaps on him to get his attention, and he has to shove a hand against the boy's face to obtain some of his own personal space back.

With popcorn and drinks scattered between the table and the couches, the movie is starting, and Kirishima manages to wrangle him over with everyone else. He's crushed between the end of one side couch and red-haired shark teeth, directly adjacent to Midoriya at the end of another. Two idiots, Kirishima and Kaminari, wedged between him and Tokoyami at the opposite side. Maybe bird boy is morosexual, too.

During the start, Midoriya gets a text. Bakugou has slouched so far down on the couch that just the top half of his spiked head from the eyes up peaks out. His red eyes shift over the arm to peer at Midoriya.]

[ Midoriya doesn't pay a ton of attention to the movie; he's seen it before after Kirishima told him that he absolutely had to and just a few of them went to watch it when it was in theaters. It's good, but in a mindless way that he appreciates. He settles onto the couch firmly between Iida and Uraraka, lifting his legs so Sero can throw himself down on the ground in front of the couch to lounge with them.

It means he's close enough to others that when Bakugou sends the text, his whole body shakes and Uraraka leans over his shoulder to look and be cool be cool be cool. She's soft and smells nice and Midoriya is very quietly dying as he texts Bakugou back. ]

Kirishima picked this movie just for you and you're not even paying attention!! :(!

[Unfortunately, the smirk Midoriya may like to see is hidden by the arm of the couch, though at least the edges of it just barely find Bakugou's eyes.]

[Kirishima only glances back at him when something crazy happens anyway, looking like an expectant puppy. Otherwise, the boy is leaned all up on him, and it's not like he can see around the stupid ass hair anyway. To make the most of it, he uses the back of Kirishima's shoulders as a prop for his arm when texting.]

You and balloon girl got a thing going on? She's almost in your lap.

[ Midoriya's doing a rather impressive impression of a strawberry, all red cheeks and green hair, huddling down into the couch to text. ]

Shut up, she is not.

[ She, and Iida, are both very close and Midoriya is nothing if not a certified bisexual disaster who loves his friends a lot and has no game, at all, whatsoever. He absolutely sees the way Bakugou's lounging on Kirishima, though, and gives him a very intentional once over, with a look at Kirishima. Kirishima notices and Midoriya freezes and then gives what's a very unconvincing smile mouthing good movie!!!. Blessedly, Kirishima doesn't question it. ]

Stones and glass houses or something, Kacchan.

[The reply offers a lot of amusement, but it's the fact when he peeks over the couch arm to see some of Midoriya's red face that he really gets some entertainment. He's even more smug when Midoriya tries to hassle him only for Kirishima to see.]

Hope jet legs doesn't stick his hand in the popcorn bowl for your dick instead of her.

[His eyes peer wolfishly over the side of the couch, not looking away unless he has to keep texting. Teasing Midoriya is, like, the best thing in the world.]

You gonna kiss her during the movie? Do you even know how to fucking kiss a girl?

[ Oh, god. Midoriya makes a noise at the idea of it and promptly steals the blanket off the back of the couch like it's a shield he can use against Bakugou's teasing. ]

You are the actual worst??? Genuinely.

[ That's NOT A COMPLIMENT, Bakugou, even if he's probably going to take it as one. Midoriya gives him a look over the top of his phone, squinting. Kissing Kirishima is probably as close to frenching a shark as you get, he figures. ]

[Midoriya wasn't wrong; Bakugou assumes it's a compliment. Or, well, he takes it that way because being the Actual Worst is great. That's his quirk, being an asshole.]

I thought you fucking might need some.

[His eyes lift back over the couch, and they're practically grinning, especially since Midoriya has retreated into the blanket.]

[ He says super convincingly, knowing that he's absolutely shit at lying about this. It feels like a loss, huddling under his blanket while Bakugou grins at him, Midoriya makes a face in response, rolling his eyes. ]

I don't need any tips on kissing.

[ Whether that's because there's no chance of anyone kissing him or because he's good at it remains to be seen. Has Bakugou kissed people? Midoriya had always assumed Bakugou was ahead of him in everything but in the least mean way possible he's ... not really sure Bakugou has. ]

Oh yeah?

[It says he's typing something else, but Kirishima again turns to bust into his personal space, excited, and he has to stop and put his phone down while he's assaulted. He shoves a hand into the boy's face and then tries to push the head down, muttering and hissing curses, something about paying attention to the fucking movie and not worrying about him.

This moron. He's going to flip the guy over the back of the couch.

The rest of whatever Bakugou was going to say doesn't come for several long minutes, and he doesn't even glance over at Midoriya like he had been doing.]

Don't need any tips cause you never kissed anybody?

[ Can't even sit still for five minutes Uraraka sighs, and Iida waves his hand back and forth like a director calling action, chastising them for distracting from the movie until the others "shhh" him for being the one to talk which makes him sit back down, cowed.

Only once everyone has settled again does Bakugou back to his phone and Midoriya does the same, typing, deleting and retyping a response. ]

You know someone can't be the best at kissing because it's a wholly objective rating right?

[ This can't ALSO be a competition. ]

The hell you can't. [It's a competition. He's Bakugou; of course it is.] Sounds like something someone who can't fucking kiss would say.

[At least now, there's no major disturbance during the movie except for the periodic whoop of excitement from the action that happens. Mostly from shark teeth and Pikachu, though darker parts get Tokoyami to lean forward. Revelry in the dark and all that.]

Comparitively we're all pretty bad kissers, probably, but we have plenty of time to get better.

[ It's an absolutely bullshit response trying to deflect because the last thing he wants in the world is for anyone to see that he's talking about kissing via text with Bakugou; they'd never let them live it down.

Midoriya focuses on the movie for a bit, trying to at least pretend like he's paying attention. He fails after a few moments, unsurprisingly. ]

There's not even a way to have a rating system! Or a way to measure "being good at it".

[Likewise, Bakugou is trying to do the same. Thankfully, he's got Kirishima's back and the end of the couch, so he lucked out. But keeping under wraps the fact he's chatting to Midoriya of all people about kissing--having an argument no less--would be something he couldn't live down.]

Or turns as red as you did earlier when you were talking about Uraraka.

[Bakugou glares at his phone. He glares at Midoriya up over the arm of the couch. He glares at his phone again. Then he glares at the television.

He hates this. But worse, he hates losing challenges and bets. He hates backing down or being scared. He hates the idea of Midoriya having accomplished more than him, especially sooner, and he has a point to prove.]
