Pausing, he turns to glance toward the kitchen, leaning back on his leg touching the floor to try to see the counter. His fisted hand and arm only lowers slightly.]
[ He's bracing, prepared for it and then — hell yeah, distracted. Bakugou's precariously placed enough that he could probably knock him off the couch if he tried, but he's not going to tempt fate right now. ]
Because I want coffee.
[ Obviously. Midoriya lifts his foot again and pushes against Bakugou's shoulder teasingly, his hand peeking out from under the blanket just in case he does get any punchy ideas. ]
[When the foot touches him, he snaps his head back down at Midoriya and glares. He grabs Midoriya's ankle and holds it taut, fingers squeezing.]
I'm gonna to give you a goddamn knuckle sandwich. [He swivels the leg down by his side and yanks his arm back, dragging Midoriya along the couch seat toward him and against his knees. The leg gets pinned under his elbow, and he leans down, getting a fistful of the pajamas near Midoriya's collar.] Time to pay your fucking dues, nerd.
[But all he does is heft Midoriya up by the collar and drop the other boy on two feet off the couch. He holds Midoriya a moment, then loosens his fingers and releases.]
[ He doesn't kick but the temptation is still there because Bakugou always draws it out of him; it's a good thing their fight was interrupted, but for better or worse Midoriya likes when they battle. He doesn't enjoy it when it's because they're both angry and things are terrible, but Bakugou is one of the few people who pushes him to be his best in every way possible.
Still. It's barely breakfast and if they break the furniture wrestling there'll be hell to pay. Midoriya yelps as he's dragged bodily across the couch and deposited somewhat neatly off of it, snagging his blanket while he's at it. If a little thrill goes through him when he's manhandled, well, Bakugou doesn't need to know about it. ]
I was comfortable.
[ It's a lazy complaint as Midoriya hefts his blanket up around himself but he heads into the kitchen to refill his glass of water and mug of coffee, pounding the water a moment later. The coffee gets another splash of milk and he starts a new pot before coming back out to toss a water bottle at Bakugou's chest once he's sure he'll catch it.
That done, he winds the blanket around like a cape and throws himself back onto the loveseat. ]
[While Midoriya goes into the kitchen, Bakugou turns around and flops down on the loveseat, lifting his legs and putting his feet on the table. He'll wait however long it takes for Iida to Kool-Aid Man it out of the wall to yell at him about taking them down.
The water bottle isn't hard to catch, not for him; he drops his phone against his stomach as he reaches up to grab it. Rolls his head back and takes a long drink of it. He puts it on the floor against the front of the couch, reclines back and doesn't move when Midoriya climbs onto the loveseat.
Fight him over the room, nerd.
Again, he lifts his phone to scroll through it, but after a moment or two, he reaches up to get a handful of the blanket and yank it off Midoriya toward himself.]
[ Bakugou's reflexes have always been impressive and this time isn't any different; he catches the water bottle effortlessly and Midoriya clambers back onto the couch, hissing when the coffee sloshes onto his fingers and he has to lick them clean.
Two people can fit onto this thing, but it means he can't stretch out or he'll put his feet into Bakugou's lap and probably lose them so that's not a great idea.
Instead, he curls his legs up to his chest and uses the blanket to cover himself, only for Bakugou to tug at it, nearly yanking it off entirely. Oh my god he mouths to the room at large, and shoulders Bakugou as he squirms to arrange it so they both can share it rather than Bakugou hoarding the lion's share. Once situated, he takes his phone back out as well, thumbing through social media idly while he sips at his coffee, Bakugou a warm, almost hot line against his side. ]
[For a while, Bakugou sits like this, partially slumped in the loveseat with some of the blanket and his phone in hand. Mostly, he's straight-faced, and even if he happens to find something LMAO-worthy, he does little more than perhaps crack the barest hints of a grin.
But that's enough for it to be charming, and it's a shame he is such a piece of shit; otherwise, he may give Shouto a run for endearing money.
Iida comes through, finally for Bakugou who is now awake, but a second time for Midoriya. Bakugou doesn't even glance up when he gets reemed dramatically for having socked feet on the table, and he purposefully leaves them there unnecessarily long before finally lowering them to the ground.
As soon as Iida is gone, however, the feet go right back up on the table, ankles crossing. In the LINE app, Midoriya gets a picture.
[ In-between posts, Midoriya texts idly with the others, organizing a study group for tuesday night in advance of their exam and a few other training sessions because he has a few things he wants to try out. It's nice. Comfortable, even, sharing space on the couch like this on a quiet morning. It's not where he thought they'd be all these years later but he's grateful.
Of course, when Iida comes through Midoriya waits, hiding his laughter into the blanket when predictably, he gestures and chastises him for putting his feet up like a heathen. Once he's gone, Midoriya slowly extends his own legs and shakes the blanket out until it covers their feet, too.
The first picture gets a twitch of his lips. The second, a barely withheld noise that's basically a giggle. After a moment of furious typing, he comes back with one to send. He actually sent me this last week. All Might appreciating ridiculous memes about himself is genuinely one of the best things Midoriya's ever encountered. ]

[ More laughter, because he's right and he knows it. The glare does nothing to phase him. ] He's a pretty decent fire type, yeah. Ho-Oh might do a little more damage, but I don't have a full team of them, yet.
[ He's well aware Bakugou's looking over his shoulder and it doesn't bother him; he's scrolling through the pokemon he's caught, various ones named for their classmates, others labeled with numbers. There's nothing below a 90 for any numbered Pokemon. ]

Midoriya has one heart-stopping moment where he's terrified he's done this all wrong and then Bakugou takes down All Might's number without a protest and his phone is handed back, not tossed into his face. Wildly successful, then. Midoriya takes his phone back and texts All Might a quick thank you and nestles further under the blanket, pleased. ]

[ His whole day has basically been made because he got to do this for Bakugou and it went well; there's no hiding the way he's smiling stupidly at his phone, warm all the way down to his toes in a way that has nothing to do with the blanket. ]
[Gently, Bakugou sinks down a little more into the loveseat and the blanket, feeling warm in the pit of his chest himself. He really does think a lot of All Might, as most people do... but between him and Midoriya, there was a lot of fanboying to go around.
Maybe it's a bit weird to be on such close terms with All Might, but he'll take it.
So he sends All Might one and drops the phone gently on the middle of his chest beneath the blanket. He has a kind of stupid half smile on his face when he closes his eyes to rest them a minute or two.]
[ He's going to be pleased with himself forever. Midoriya doesn't say anything else because he doesn't need to, but he's absolutely not paying any attention to his phone right then. He thumbs along it like he's doing something but he isn't taking in any words on the screen.
All of his attention is focused on Bakugou, and his hands itch to take a photo of him. There's no good reason to do it, and it'd only irritate him, so Midoriya compromises and does his level best to memorize this moment.
He focuses his attention properly on his phone, though, not wanting to risk Bakugou seeing him stare and hollering about it, or mistaking it for...well, he doesn't know what, but this is nice and he desperately doesn't want to fuck it up, so he's curling on his end of the couch, savoring this. ]
[Once again, he almost dozes off. Slowly, his quiet, lopsided smile softens into placidity, and his chin begins to carefully tip toward his shoulder, but there's a gentle buzz which reverberates on his chest when his phone vibrates.
Blearily, he blinks opens his eyes and glances down, easing the phone out of the edge of the blanket so he can look at the screen. It's a LINE from his mom, but he can't tell what it is because the message box on the notif is blank.
So he unlocks his phone and groans softly. Turning it around, he holds it out toward Midoriya, so the other boy can see. It's the most endearing, embarrassing mom selfies as mom selfies go--both his mom and Midoriya's mom while out for breakfast.]
[ He's just going through his pokemon on his phone, appraising them and trashing them if they're 95 or below. It's a fairly intensive process where he takes a screencap every time to note their ratings and then inputs a name for each one manually.
Maybe it's just that he's relaxed and barely paying attention, or maybe he just likes tempting fate but he does what he'd do with one of the others when they're all lounging on the couch in a puppy pile: he leans over into Bakugou's space to see it from where he's slouched.
It's a cute photo; Midoriya makes a little aaw noise under his breath and then slides back over to his side of the couch. Their version of it would be funny - Bakugou and Midoriya in PJs with frozen hot pockets but his mom doesn't need any reason to fuss about how he's eating. Instead, he arranges the hoodie's hood so it's not in his eyes, adjusts the blanket and turns the camera to selfie mode, posing, glancing at Bakugou. ]
Better than sending our moms a picture of the hot pocket box.

Date: 2018-11-06 02:26 am (UTC)Midoriya has one heart-stopping moment where he's terrified he's done this all wrong and then Bakugou takes down All Might's number without a protest and his phone is handed back, not tossed into his face. Wildly successful, then. Midoriya takes his phone back and texts All Might a quick thank you and nestles further under the blanket, pleased. ]
You gotta promise you still send me all the good ones.
[ His whole day has basically been made because he got to do this for Bakugou and it went well; there's no hiding the way he's smiling stupidly at his phone, warm all the way down to his toes in a way that has nothing to do with the blanket. ]

Date: 2018-11-06 03:31 am (UTC)[Gently, Bakugou sinks down a little more into the loveseat and the blanket, feeling warm in the pit of his chest himself. He really does think a lot of All Might, as most people do... but between him and Midoriya, there was a lot of fanboying to go around.
Maybe it's a bit weird to be on such close terms with All Might, but he'll take it.
So he sends All Might one and drops the phone gently on the middle of his chest beneath the blanket. He has a kind of stupid half smile on his face when he closes his eyes to rest them a minute or two.]

He focuses his attention properly on his phone, though, not wanting to risk Bakugou seeing him stare and hollering about it, or mistaking it for...well, he doesn't know what, but this is nice and he desperately doesn't want to fuck it up, so he's curling on his end of the couch, savoring this. ]

So he unlocks his phone and groans softly. Turning it around, he holds it out toward Midoriya, so the other boy can see. It's the most endearing, embarrassing mom selfies as mom selfies go--both his mom and Midoriya's mom while out for breakfast.]

Date: 2018-11-06 04:24 am (UTC)Maybe it's just that he's relaxed and barely paying attention, or maybe he just likes tempting fate but he does what he'd do with one of the others when they're all lounging on the couch in a puppy pile: he leans over into Bakugou's space to see it from where he's slouched.
It's a cute photo; Midoriya makes a little aaw noise under his breath and then slides back over to his side of the couch. Their version of it would be funny - Bakugou and Midoriya in PJs with frozen hot pockets but his mom doesn't need any reason to fuss about how he's eating. Instead, he arranges the hoodie's hood so it's not in his eyes, adjusts the blanket and turns the camera to selfie mode, posing, glancing at Bakugou. ]
Better than sending our moms a picture of the hot pocket box.
